Help us to understand the future workforce as part of our research study with the University of Salford. If you have children, or know someone who does, aged 7-17, we’d like them to take our survey.
Help with Our Research
We’ve recently launched a study with the University of Salford into the use of tech by young people and its postural, physical and musculoskeletal impact as they develop, with the ultimate aim to discover the risks to industry as they enter the workforce.
The first stage of this study is an anonymised online survey for young people aged 7-17 years, with the chance to win an iPad.
We’d like to invite you, as industry peers interested in the future impact on your workforce, to ask your children or friends who are parents of children within the age bracket to participate. Please note, this is for children in the UK only.
The following message is from the study’s lead researcher Anna Clark, and details the aim of the study, how you can participate and any ethical concerns you might have.
A Message from Anna
Your children may be eligible to participate in our study on the use of personal electronic devices (PEDs – including smart phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers) – and their effects on postural, physical and musculoskeletal systems.
The title of the survey is “A Questionnaire to Investigate the Postural, Physical and Musculoskeletal Impacts of Children using Personal Electronic Devices.”
The aim of the study is to understand the use of PEDs in schoolchildren and explore whether this use is a risk factor to musculoskeletal symptoms (MSK), postural and physiological changes over time. What does this mean for industry in the future?
Participation in this research project will involve following the link provided below, which will take them to an online questionnaire. Participation in this research project is voluntary, and their anonymity and confidentiality will be ensured and respected.
