The study, conducted for Specsavers, surveyed 138 directors with an HR or health and safety remit in companies of varying size, from SMEs to those employing 10,000 plus staff in both the public and private sectors.

It found that just 47 per cent of those directors surveyed felt they “fully understand DSE regulations” and that less than a third of companies meet the regulations by wholly funding DSE eye care for employees.

This is a worryingly low level of understanding and compliance.
